In April, Curtis and I found out we were expecting a little one in December. Although we had been trying for a couple of months, it was still a shock that it was actually happening.
Curtis had been joking around with me for about a week–just making comments about how he thought I was pregnant. I really didn’t think it was going to be the case when I took the test I was having all of my normal monthly cues that Aunt flow was about to make her appearance. I didn’t even tell Curtis I was taking the test because I honestly didn’t think I was pregnant. There I was in the bathroom with the cat, waiting on the test to tell me that I wasn’t pregnant and to expect my monthly any day. I waited the few minutes for the results to pop up and when they did I was in complete shock. I just stood there for a minute taking it all in—our whole lives were about to change—it was a lot to take in.
I gathered my thoughts and excitedly went to find Curtis who was upstairs doing something in the attic. I called his name and he met me halfway on the stairs and I handed him the test. He looked down at it, and then then back at me and just smiled and said “I told you!”
I wish I would have documented on here weekly how I have been progressing in my pregnancy, but that didn’t happen! Right now I am 35 weeks and getting closer and closer to the end of the pregnancy. I’m excited and ready to meet our little one.
We’ve also had a gender reveal party and a baby shower as well that I plan on writing posts on so stay tuned for that!
